Christian Heritage School was founded in 1986 with 35 students. As interest in Christian education grew in our area, so did CHS. In 1994, two community leaders donated an eleven-acre site to the school. A significant matching grant led to the establishment of the CHS Endowment Fund. The school was built debt free. In 1997, CHS opened the doors of its beautiful new facility, located inside the city limits of Dalton. By this time, CHS had grown to include 218 students and a staff of 31. Currently, CHS serves over 400 students and their families with a staff of over 60 dedicated professional Christian educators.
CHS is fully accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Today, Christian Heritage is the largest multi-denominational Christian school in Northwest Georgia, known for its solid biblical foundation, rigorous academics, and notable arts and athletic programs. The school is overseen by an elected Board of Trustees and supported by an active Parent-Teacher-Student Fellowship (PTSF).
The CHS model derives its authority from the scriptures. Our understanding of the school’s role is informed by the Biblical mandate (Deuteronomy:4-8; Proverbs 22:6; and Ephesians 6:1-4) giving parents the authority and responsibility to educate their children. Parents may delegate their authority to a school, but not their responsibility. Therefore, CHS encourages parental involvement at every level of school life. Every parent enters into an agreement with the school to support our mission, philosophy, and behavioral standards.
PREPARED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE: CHS graduates should have a heart for God and their neighbor, possess a Biblical worldview, and be able to effectively communicate their life message.
